Norbert Schlenker, President

Norbert founded Libra Investment Management in mid-2003.  He was a retail broker at a bank owned investment dealer from mid-2000 until early 2003.  Prior to that time, he underwrote and traded municipal bonds for a large US bank, managed the back office for a variable rate remarketing desk, and developed trading and risk management systems for derivatives traders.

He has a B.Sc. from Dalhousie University and an M.A. from Princeton , both in Computer Science.  Norbert has held a CFA charter since 1999, and holds the CIM and FMA designations from the Canadian Securities Institute.  Norbert scored among the top five in Canada on the June 2003 CFP licensing exam (see page 7 of this FPSC bulletin) and received a Bronze Award from CSI for his marks on their Option Licensing Course in 2003.

Norbert has volunteered as president of the Salt Spring Stingrays, president of ArtSpring from 2002 through 2005, treasurer of the Salt Spring Island Sailing Club, and a trustee of the Salt Spring Island Fire Protection District in 2015-16.

The firm and its principals adhere to CFAI's Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. Norbert relinquished his CFP mark in March 2019 but continues to abide by FPSC's Code of Ethics.
